The silk used is one where relations with the supplier starts in
the field, not at the weaver. Our silk house, founded in the 1920’s,
guarantee that every fibre begins life in the right way, under the
correct conditions. As the organic material goes through harvesting,
spinning, weaving, dying, printing and finishing, - they work beside
the supplier to make sure every part of the process is composed.
By working in this way they produce less waste and keep the workforce
happy. No long hauled flights or shipments, no obscure production.
We are more than happy.
We, alongside so many, are in continuous wonder of the American artist
Georgia Totto O'Keeffe and how she played such an important part in the
development of modern art, becoming the first female painter to gain respect
in New York's art world, and subsequently worldwide acclaim from critics and
the general public, in the 1920's. We have, into indian ink & aquarelle painted,
silk printed, - put our admiration for O'Keeffe for, within her work and life,
staying unapologetically true to her own vision.
