The silk used is one where relations with the supplier starts in
the field, not at the weaver. Our silk house, founded in the 1920’s,
guarantee that every fibre begins life in the right way, under the
correct conditions. As the organic material goes through harvesting,
spinning, weaving, dying, printing and finishing, - they work beside
the supplier to make sure every part of the process is composed.
By working in this way they produce less waste and keep the workforce
happy. No long hauled flights or shipments, no obscure production.
We are more than happy.
Us makers have stood in awe of the sculptures of Swiss painter, printmaker
and perhaps most of all, - sculptor Alberto Giacometti, in the 'Giacometti Gallery'
of Louisiana Museum in Denmark since childhood and our adoration for this iconic
maker is now painted, printed and sewn into silk, with an indian ink and aquarelle
portrait of the stunning man himself and a sketch of his distinctive elongated figures,
that has come to be some of the most instantly recognisable works of art in the world.
